You can thank the EPA and the stratocharging for that, whereas the 2350's are nothing like that. The larger redmax trimmers are way harder to start by comparison and the are cold natured and take a good 20-30 seconds to warm up before the heads will spin. Oh and they start great 1 or 2 pulls and no warmup. It's considered "light duty commercial" but I run them for years and literally don't do much with them as far repairs. Super light, well built, comes the pt104 plus head. So my advice with the tr2350 is it a great trimmer. During the summer I pretty much have a permanent dark spot on my forearm from it. It gets hot and it makes contact with my arm depending on how I hold the trimmers. The one complaint I do have on the Redmax tr2350 trimmer is the spark plug wire/boot burns the $hit out of my forearm. I didn't plan on it being the way, it just happened that way. I never thought I'd have so many different pieces of equipment from one company. I've had great luck with them and it seems like if redmax makes a piece of equipment I'm in the market for, I try it and it's seemed to work out so far. Slowly over the years I've ended up with more and more redmax products not just trimmers anymore. My last purchase was their ts500i fuel injected cut off saw, which I've had problems with but that's another story. Even though Stihl seems to have gone downhill, there are just certain products that you only go to Stihl for and I still do buy. And Stihl was the way to go with stick edgers. You wanted a good trimmer you went with redmax. I used to run redmax trimmers and stihl stick edgers. It just seems like the quality has been slowly going down hill over the last decade or so. I've had more and more problems with them over the years. Personally I'm starting to phase them out. I should also add that I have used a lot of Stihl products as well. I switch all my redmax trimmers to this head if they don't already come with them. They're simple, easy to load, problem free, and pretty darn durable. The redmax tr2350 also comes with what I feel is one of the best trimmer heads on the market, the pt104 plus. Husqvarna have always been a little vague with their numbers. Some manufacturers weights don't include a full gas tank, some do. Listed equipment weights are hard to go by as there are too many variables. I swear it is lighter than the husqvarna units too. It's hard to believe that redmax was able to build a trimmer so light and still feel as well built. The redmax feels as much like a quality unit as it actually is. Honestly the husqvarna units felt so cheap, I didn't like the head, and they were boxy making it feel bulky and not as comfortable to me. I took a look at them in person just to see what all the hype is about knowing that the redmax tr2350 is comparable and I've been using them for years. There are husqvarna trimmers that seem to be really popular that are light like the redmax, I think 323 and 326 are the model numbers. Again check the site but it's just over 9lbs if I remember right. I swear this is the lightest trimmer on the market. It will go through biweekly accounts and some heavier growth if need be. That being said I have switched over to redmax tr2350s trimmers for weekly trimming. It might not seem like much, a couple pounds, but you will learn that it makes a huge difference after you've been doing this a while and your body gets tired, or those 90 degree days, or when you carry one around 6 hours a day. You'd have to check the redmax site but they are at times a couple pounds lighter than comparable sized trimmers from other brands. Mind you Redmax does make a really light weight to power trimmer 30cc trimmer. As I've grown older I look more for lighter and lighter trimmers. It was nice to have when you have that walk up customer with an overgrown lawn and you have to cut off some heavier growth. I liked the power, but found that it was mostly overkill. I've ran the 30 cc sized trimmers for years on weekly lawns. Having used a variety of trimmer sizes over the years from low 20's to mid 30's in regards to cc's, I learned what works best for me depending on what I'm doing. Sure you can use the bigger fs 90 for regular weekly trimming and likewise the tr2350s for heavier growth. I would tend to be thinking/using the fs 90 for heavier growth or even light brush and the tr2350 for regular weekly trimming. That is a big difference when it comes to trimmer engines. The stihl fs 90 is over 28cc where as the redmax tr2350 comes in at under 22cc. First you are comparing two different animals here. I don't care if you are a sponsor, if you drop the ball you drop the ball.Īnyway I can tell you what I've learned in regards to your question. I don't post much on this forum anymore since most of my recent posts have gotten deleted (god forbid you put any honest feedback about a company especially if they are a sponsor).
